Superhive exclusivity vs multi-marketplace: seller decision checklist

Not legal or marketplace advice. Quotes below come from Superhive (formerly Blender Market) creator Help / Terms as of 2026-10-15. Other storefronts’ exclusivity clauses change — re-open their terms before you dual-list. This article does not link or endorse any of our live products.

Here the only job is: does Superhive lock you into exclusivity, and how should you decide when another marketplace does?

1) Lead answer

  1. Superhive does not require exclusivity. Creator Terms state they maintain no exclusivity policy and you may sell the same products on any other marketplaces or in any other manner you choose (Terms of Use — Creator). A dedicated Help article says the same in plain language: own site, cousin’s site, even competitors’ sites (Selling Your Products on Other Sites).

  2. Higher commission is not an exclusivity club. Marketing Help: “no exclusivity rules and no super-duper StaleMate club to get a higher commission rate”; commission ranges 70%–90% by subscription level (Why You Should Sell…).

  3. Multi-marketplace listing ≠ using Superhive as an off-checkout funnel. Creator Policy still forbids exchanging personal/financial contact or directions to purchase via another site in order to evade Superhive checkout (Creator Policy). Dual-list on Gumroad (or elsewhere) under that store’s own checkout; do not turn the Superhive product page into a referral flyer that bypasses Superhive payment.

  4. When a different marketplace requires exclusivity, treat that store’s written exclusivity / exclusivity-for-rate clause as the binding constraint on that SKU — Superhive’s non-exclusivity does not override the other store’s contract. Exact terms of named competitors were not verified this pass (not fetched); open their current seller agreement yourself.

2) What Superhive documents (and what it does not)

Topic Superhive position (archived Help) Not this article
Exclusivity policy None — sell elsewhere freely (44, 56, 51) —
Competitors Explicitly allowed (56) Naming which competitor is “better”
Commission vs exclusivity Higher rates via subscription, not exclusivity club (51) Full fee tables
Platform sales / deals Autotroph may run sales/negotiated deals; email + opt-out window; silence = included; earnings may differ (44) Pricing strategy
Checkout evasion Forbidden to push buyers off Superhive checkout via contact / external purchase instructions (277) Generic “honest listing”
Original work / IP Must be yours or adequately licensed to redistribute (44, 277) Full IP policy walkthrough

3) Decision checklist (when exclusivity appears on another store)

Use this before you put the same digital asset on Superhive and Store X (or choose X-only).

# Check Pass signal
1 Open Store X current seller / exclusivity / “exclusive rate” terms You have a dated PDF or Help URL, not a forum rumor
2 Scope of exclusivity Same file / SKU / category only? Worldwide? Time-limited?
3 Rate trade Is a better cut conditional on exclusivity? (Superhive explicitly says it does not run that club — Help 51.)
4 Superhive side Help 44/56 still allow other marketplaces — so the conflict, if any, is Store X’s clause, not Superhive’s
5 Checkout honesty on Superhive Listing still sells on Superhive; no “buy cheaper on my Gumroad” evasion text (Help 277)
6 License / redistribution Your license to buyers on each store is consistent with what you uploaded (Help 44 license responsibility)
7 Support load Two storefronts → two support inboxes; Superhive still expects adequate support via Inbox (Help 44)
8 Platform-initiated discounts Superhive may discount with equal reduction across parties (Help 44) — plan margin assuming that can happen unless you opt out in time
9 Gumroad / other store fee models Separate fee docs (e.g. Gumroad direct vs Discover) — not verified; don’t mix them into Superhive math here or invent net “take-home”
10 Exit / delist If Store X exclusivity ends or you leave Superhive — transfer rules not verified; re-read both ToS

If Store X’s exclusivity forbids other marketplaces for that asset, pick one primary (or a non-overlapping SKU bundle) rather than hoping Superhive’s non-exclusivity saves you on Store X’s side.

4) Practical multi-marketplace patterns (non-prescriptive)

Pattern Fits Superhive docs? Honesty note
Same Blender asset on Superhive + own site Yes (56) Keep checkout separate; don’t evade Superhive checkout from the Superhive page (277)
Same asset on Superhive + Gumroad / other market Yes on Superhive side (44/56); other store’s exclusivity not verified until you read it Version / price / license text can drift — sync changelogs
Superhive-only exclusive “club” for better cut Not how Superhive markets rates (51) Commission tiers = subscription
Superhive listing that only redirects off-site Conflicts with Creator Policy checkout-evasion rules (277) Don’t

5) What this article does not do

It does not rehash apply→publish timing, listing imagery / commission formulas / payout calendars, or Gumroad Discover / refunds / tax. It does not quote Unity Asset Store, CGTrader, or other competitors’ exclusivity clauses — those remain not verified until you archive their official pages.
